Breaking New Ground - IGSHPA/GAOI Conference 2025

We are excited to promote the IGSHPA 2025 annual conference in Champaign, Illinois in the USA.  All members of AREEA are able to get a discounted rate on their ticket for this conference.  We will email out further information to members about the discount and how to claim it.

The Australasian Renewable Earth Energy Association (AREEA) was established in 2021 by a dedicated group of professionals advocating for sustainability, low-carbon design, and renewable energy. Steve Crowley, AREEA’s Chair will provide a brief overview of the organization, focused on expediting the adoption of renewable earth energy systems to support the reduction of carbon emissions in the heating and cooling sector in Australasia.

The session will continue with outlining the design and construction process along with the benefits of installing a Geothermal Vertical Ground Heat Exchanger system, with  special focus on the Plumbing Industry Climate Action Centre in Narre Warren, Vic, Australia, led by industry expert Clint Patzack from Geothermal Industries Australia (GIA) an Australian based company focused on Geothermal drilling and product distribution with over 20 years’ experience in the application of Geothermal systems in commercial buildings.

Steve Crowley will briefly introduce the organisation, which is dedicated to accelerating the adoption of renewable earth energy systems, to facilitate the decarbonization of the heating and cooling energy sector in Australasia. The design and construction requirements and processes, together with the advantages and potential pitfalls of ground source heat pump systems will be exemplified with case studies, focusing attention on the Camp Glenorchy Eco Retreat project in New Zealand, by industry expert Stephen Jarvis.

The official launch of the website for the Australasian Renewable Earth Energy Association (AREEA) is set for 1st of January 2022

AREEA is working on partnerships and memorandi of understanding with like-minded associations and organisations. Stay tune.

The Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC) approved AREEA's Charity status in November 2021. 

The association was formally established and incorporated on Wednesday 4th of August 2021.
